Day 1-4: Santiago de Chile

Welcome to Chile! Here in Santiago beats the heart of Chile. And at the same time, at the foot of the snow-covered mountains and not far from the mighty ocean, you feel what gave this country its name according to a legend: Chilli - where the world ends. Glorious buildings and busy commerce on the streets, flourishing parks and modern high-rise complexes come together in Santiago. And on a hike in El Morado National Park, you dive into the ravishing landscape of the Andes.

Day 4-6: Puerto Natales

You move on to the extreme south of Chile. Puerto Natales is the gateway to the grandiose phenomena of Patagonia. First, get absorbed by the vivid and dreamy mood of the town and breathe in the fresh air of the fissured tip of South America. And on a boat trip, you cruise on the Fjord Última Esperanza to the glaciers Balmaceda and Serrano in the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park. It is rough out here and magical.

Day 6-10: National Park Torres del Paine

In a unique scenery and surrounded by international flair, you go on a five-day hike along the W-Trek of the renowned Torres del Paine National Park. You ascend to the pointed peaks Las Torres, wander along the shore of the enchanting Lago Nordenskjöld and hike through green forests in Valle Francés. On the last day you reach the monumental Grey Glacier. The sight of the massive slab of ice is overwhelming.

Day 10-11: Puerto Natales

After your sporty circular hike, you leave the Torres del Paine National Park. By ferry you cross Lago Grey and a shuttle bus takes you back to the small town of Puerto Natales in the evening. It is a good moment to introspect and to review your experiences.

Day 11-13: Punta Arenas

You travel to Punta Arenas, one of the southernmost cities on earth. Facing the island of Tierra del Fuego, you are in a truly historic place. This is where the American continent ends. And that is how it feels. On a boat excursion, you sail on the windy Strait of Magellan to the abandoned Isla Magdalena. On the small island, thousands of penguins swarm around, brooding their eggs.

Day 13-16: Valparaíso

You return to central Chile. Valparaíso is known for its colorful tin-clad houses, historic elevators and street art full of politics and irony. Meander attentively through the winding sidewalks on the hills of this freedom-loving coastal metropolis. Go up the myriad, exhilaratingly designed stairways of the port city. An entertaining cooking class gives you a taste of Chilean food culture. And on a hike in the charming Cerro La Campana National Park, you cross green palm forests.
